I have advertised in the Robb Report Magazine in the past, and they continue to send it to me as a courtesy.  It’s one of my all-time favorite magazines to peruse because I love seeing the latest and greatest luxury items.  Even if lavish vacations, exotic cars, and toys for grown men aren’t your thing, there is a lot of compelling content that just makes you scratch your head.

Today, I finally got around to reading the “Holiday Hot List” issue that I received last week.  Here’s a round-up of what they had to say for 2015.

What’s Hot for The Holidays?

I’ll first say that the magazine is FULL of ads.  Just be forewarned that you’ll see ads for stuff from Patron, to jewelry, to lavish resorts and exotic vacations.  It’s really the number one way to get your name out there in the luxury space, by getting in this magazine for affluent individuals who either have money to spend or simply dream for that style of life.  I don’t know of a better magazine showcasing items for the ultra wealthy than this one.  The Robb Report has it all, and then some.

They first showcase a wide range of cities that the ultra wealthy can have fun in.  They start with New York City, where they suggest checking out the below items:

Holiday Happenings in New York City

  • Hotels

The Surrey, The Four Seasons New York, and The Crosby Street Hotel

  • Main Attractions

Wollman Rink, Gingerbread Lane, a Christmas Carol at Merchant’s House Museum, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Carnegie Hall, Tubachristmas, and Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church 11th Annual Carol Sing.

  • Holiday Shopping

Union Square Holiday Market, The Grand Central Holiday Fair, and the Winter Village at Bryant Park.

  • Exclusive Events

Christmas Eve Dinner at Aquavit, Feast of the Seven Fishes at Hearth, Classic Harbor Line New Year’s Eve Fireworks, Christmas Day menu at The Crosby Bar, Christmas Day at the Russian Tea Room, and Christmas Dinner at the Fourth.

There are many more events listed, being New York is so large, but those were the highlights for me.

Which Brings us to my stomping grounds:  Miami!

Things to do around the Holidays in Miami

  • Hotels

I could have made this list myself, as a 15 year resident of South Florida.  The Robb Report nailed it.  Mandarin Oriental, Setai, St. Regis Bal Harbour, and the Faena Hotel Miami Beach.  I would have thrown in the lavish Shore Club and Delano hotels personally, on a side note.

  • Main Attractions

Among the attractions in Miami for the Holiday Season includes the Christmas Tree Lighting and Food Truck invasion at Bayfront Park, the Zoo Lights at Zoo Miami, and of course the Holiday evening at Vizcaya.

  • Shopping

Fashion project at Bal Harbour, Viceroy Miami Shop & stay package.

  • Events

Art Basel!  I’ll be there!  From December 3-6 the city gets a lot of tourism for this event.

They continue with Los Angeles

Things to do in LA Over the Holidays

  • Hotels

Montage Laguna Beach, The Peninsula Beverly Hills, Shutters on the Beach (this is in Santa Monica, and while I love Santa Monica, this was a bit chilly for my liking on my last stay and for $1,000 per night that I paid I’d rather be at the Chateau Marmont or the Marquis in West Hollywood.

  • Main Attractions

Catamaran charter with Captain Dave for Dan Point Harbor’s Boat Parade of Lights, The Resort at Pelican Hill were highlights for me.

  • Shopping

The Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel Annual Holiday Surfboard Auction.

  • Events

Chistmas Eve at Melisse.

Other cities covered in this Holiday Issue of the Robb Report included San Francisco & Napa Valley, but I ran out of steam (and time) after reading about all the things to do in Miami.

That’s a quick update.  Hope everyone is having a great holiday season.  Make sure to check out this review if you want an ugly Christmas Sweater.
