Let’s face it, every man on the face of this planet wants a man cave. I wish I had space to build a man cave in my house, but at the present time, I need all the bedrooms. Unlike where I grew up in Minnesota, basements are not an option here in South Florida, or I’d have the best man basement ever!
I would start by getting some items from Ultra Cave.
Perhaps my next house will feature an area where we can just let it all out and put all the big boy toys in one area, but for now, I’ve got a lot of cool stuff spread out throughout my house, and I can live with that.
I do have ideas for my own personal place for the guys to hang out and relax, guzzle tequila and beers, and this page is going to summarize how I’ll eventually build my own perfect man cave, as well as highlight some of the man cave gifts I’d love to receive, but for now, will have to rely on giving to friends who have the luxury of having this awesome place to call their own.
My Ideas for Man Caves
As I
thought about man cave ideas, I told myself, “this is going to assume everyone has an unlimited budget and has ample space to make this happen.”
Please know that this list is just something I’m making for all the guys out there to think about as they create the perfect man cave. There is no right or wrong answer, I’m just spit balling it here and doing my best to create a list of things guys would buy if money was not an object. When you create your own ma
n sanctuary, you’ll want to make sure you design it with yourself in mind. For this reason, there is no right or wrong answer when you create your own personal mecca. Some men like action movie heros, while others are nostaglic baseball buffs. Personally, I’m a big fan of creating a multi-media paradise with a huge bar area where I can have as many football games telev
ised live as possible in an area that I can smoke cigars and gamble in. Think of a well done Vegas sports book.
You’ll need to think of how you want to align your gaming area, if that’s in your idea, as well as any seating. Some men will opt for diner style seating while others go for movie theater seating. Some may go for country western style and decorate their bar and flooring with leather. Examples of all styles are shown below. Of course, no man cave is complete without a big screen television, movie theater, or projector.
Take notes, plan ahead, and be the envy of all of your friends. Let their wives be jealous that their husbands get to come over and share in the fun of this adult playground.
Man Cave Designs and Themes
As I touched on earlier, the first decision you’ll have to make is if you want to go
with a certain theme. If you have a theme, it’ll help you source items much easier. Again, there is no right or wrong answer, so if you want to make a bat cave theme and have it littered with Miami Hurricanes gear, by all means, be that weirdo that does that. This is all about you.
Electing a specific design theme for your man cave also makes it easy to put things together. For example, if you’ve chosen a baseball theme for this special room, you can then plan what features the space will have. Will you be adding a minibar on one side or creating a feature wall with customized canvas prints of your Major League hero? Planning all these details becomes easier with a concept in mind.
