Hitting Chicago and having a Wrigley Field Bachelor Party is a dream not only for many “gonna be” grooms but also for their bros. Think about it. A classic American city with a party-hearty history and the legendary Chicago Cubs baseball team playing in the beloved Wrigley Field.
There are so many places and so many things to do for bachelor parties that it can be a tough thing to plan out. Elsewhere in Things Men Buy, we have some great ideas about having a Costa Rica Bachelor Party That is a killer option, no doubt.
But let’s talk Chicago and Wrigley. What takes this destination over the top is that the entire neighborhood surrounding Wrigley Field is both famous and notorious. I’m talking Wrigleyville! Every baseball fan knows about Wrigleyville. The sports bars, the attitude, and the fun to be had there is one of a kind. All this makes having a bachelor party here something you and your crew will never forget.
If you’re a best man or know one, you’ll find some tips here to put together an outstanding bachelor party in the Windy City.
Planning Your Wrigley Field Bachelor Party
In my opinion, there are basically two ways to do a bachelor party in the Wrigley Field neighborhood. Both involve a Cubs game, good food, and plenty of adult beverages.
Go To a Cubs Game
Planning in advance is key for a successful bachelor party in and around Wrigley Field. Buying Chicago Cubs tickets can be tough, especially for a group.
The best place to start is looking for tickets at the official website of the Cubs. Take a look at the promotions they offer and schedule your party to attend a game where all your buds can get some Cubbies swag. Memories, man, memories.
Ticket marketplaces are another source for Cubs tickets. StubHub is one resource you can check out. You might have your own favorite resource for game tickets so be sure to see what they have available for your target dates.
Have Your Bachelor Party On a Wrigleyville Rooftop
The other way to throw down with a Cubs game is to reserve a rooftop! This is one of the most unique experiences in sports fun, in my humble opinion. If you’re not familiar with this, building rooftops with great views of Wrigley Field have been converted into party places.
There’s quite a few of these Wrigley Rooftops to choose from. They do all-inclusive party packages. So after checking them out and finding one that suits your fancy, once you and your bros arrive all the food and drink is included. The enjoyment is up to you.
The aptly titled “Wrigley Rooftops” found here. is one good resource for your bachelor party planning.
Another resource is the iconic historic neighborhood bar call Murphy’s Bleachers. They rent their roof for bachelor parties. Classic game day appetizers and other food like Burgers and Brats are given the Murphy’s touch. Beer, wine, and well drinks, and light appetizers are included in their basic package. Other options for both food and drink can be added. You can find out more here: https://murphysbleachers.com
Completing Your Bachelor Party in Chicago’s Wrigley Field Neighborhood
Once you have either your game tickets or roof reservations, you know exactly what dates you need to reserve hotel rooms. Though you can always hire a limo to get you to Wrigleyville from any hotel you choose, I think staying in the neighborhood can’t be beat.
The Hotel Zachary just opened March 31, 2018, on Clark Street directly across the street from the front entrance of Wrigley Field. You won’t find a hotel with a better location for your party. Be a superstar and get rooms with balconies that have views of the ballpark. Be sure to check it out.
As part of a huge redevelopment, you’ll find lots of restaurants adjacent to the Hotel Zachary. Everything from fast food to upscale can be found nearby.
Wrigleyville Bars to Hit
Getting your buzz going before and continuing it after the game is almost a requirement when we’re talking about the Cubs. In addition to the great bars I talk about below, check this out for the best sports bars in Chicago.
Before The Game
The Cubby Bear is a Chicago sports bar that’s been going strong since 1953. It’s on W. Addison just across for the ball field. It would be tough to find a better bar to start the party at than The Cubby Bear.
On W. Addison you’ll find The Sports Corner. This bar and grill is a sure bet before the game. Hell, you can party at The Sports Corner during the game or after too!
After The Game
The Cubby Bear is open after Cubs games too. So if you missed it before, try them afterward.
If you didn’t rent their roof, Murphy’s Bleachers is a must hit place right outside of the field. They are on N. Sheffield.
If sports memorabilia, games you can play, plus music light you up, try Sluggers on N. Clark. They are near Wrigley Field. One last thing to know about Sluggers, they have batting cages in their upper deck. A bar, with batting cages, just outside Wrigley. Yeah.
Late Night in Wrigleyville
Ready for loose, boozy and sloppy? John Barleycorn has two levels for late night drinking, dancing, and party-minded women. This former speakeasy is where the party-hearty end up late.
I’ve done my best to lay out some top-shelf ideas for your bachelor party in and around Wrigley Field. Plan in advance and your party will be the stuff of legends. It’s all up to you now. Best of luck and have fun.
