As a digital marketer and guy who can pretty much work from any wireless connection, I’ve had my fair share of places to work at over the years. One coffee shop that has a decent breakfast menu that offers fast prepared food and more locations than I can count is Panera Bread. Whether it’s in my own Fort Lauderdale suburb or somewhere I’m traveling, I can always find a Panera Bread location.
While I usually hang out for a while, write some content, answer emails, and perform my daily responsibilities for this website as well as my other ventures, there are some people who need to get in and get out – in a hurry. For those people, they will totally benefit from the new touch screen kiosk ordering system at Panera Bread.
Panera Bread Touch Screen Order System
Have a look at this photo below. It makes life simple and you can even add customization to your order if you prefer. I was prompted by the staff to use it if I was going to pay with a debit card, so I gave it a shot.
Look, in the morning, the last thing I want to deal with is people. Especially when I’m not in the mood to talk because I haven’t had my caffeine yet. I think this kiosk is awesome. There were 4 of them in my location I frequent, and it made ordering a breeze. As someone who appreciates progress and automation, as well as removing the human element, I think this is a step in the right direction that will be copied by many other restaurants. I already use the mobile ordering system at Starbucks (so I don’t have to wait there) as well as Chick-Fil-A. Both establishments are extremely busy in my city and with my schedule, you can never do enough to cut down on time waiting around.
